I’m a 30 Year Old Personal Finance Content Creator and I’m Not Afraid to Admit That…
1. Two years ago, I had almost $60,000 saved and zero credit card debt, and today, I have $0 saved and almost $50K in debt! It was not because I splurged and spent my money recklessly, but because I made conscious decisions to fund situations I shouldn’t have (still not ready to fully talk about it), which led to me relying on credit cards! I have not forgiven myself for it yet.
2. A huge part of my CC debt is from my business. In 2024, I purchased too many product for my BF sale, believing I would sell it all and pay off the CC balance, but that did not happen.
3. In less than 2 years, because of God’s favor, I had grown my e-commerce business to six figures selling budgeting tools, but after Black Friday 2023, I got burnt out from all the orders, and have still not fully recovered from the exhaustion. It financially affected my income greatly!
4. Being a finance content creator used to be so easy for me…and I think it was because I was in a great place financially. But now that I’m coming back to creating videos full time, after making financial mistakes, I feel as though I don’t belong and have nothing valuable to give, but that is not the truth! Through my mistakes and me starting over, I think I’ll become more relatable, humble, and reach a lot of people who need this community.
5. I have no idea how to invest or what to invest in. Investing gives me a headache but one day I would like to expand my knowledge and provide education on it through my experiences.
Sometimes I feel like I can be too transparent with my financial journey, but I know through my transparency, it helps others.
